We all know hygiene is a trending topic in healthcare environment.  To prepare ourselves for the future Watts has set a new standard.


In collaboration with Microban a Watts shoe is able to kill bacterial touching the surface of each shoe within 5 hours. By using  build in RFID technology, Watts can control it's cleaning proces. Washing is therefore possible at lower, energy saving temperature (40 degrees).

Cleaning process

Watts is not just a product, it's a system in which also the washing proces is integrated. A built in RFID chip ensures the logistic controle regardless if that is done in- or externally. Our system makes sure that everyone  get their own pair of clean shoes back.


Comfort of the shoe was one of the most importent aspects which needed to be perfect. With a database of ten thousand of feet Watts created a separate women and mens last. This means, that women and men both wearing size 41 actually wear different shoes. To optimise fitting even more Watts offers a range of 4 different kind of insoles.


To optimize fitting, Watts offers removable insoles. Our basic washable insole is compulsory to each pair. To optimise fitting Watts offers you different kinds of insoles;

  • Fitplus, for narrow feet
  • Supportplus, for those who need extra support 
  • Topline, footbed with a luxury top layer to absorb maximum moisture

Tests have proved we can optimize fitting for almost 90%. However in case you need a taylor made pair of insoles pls contact us and we can help you out through one of our partners. 


Watts looked specifically at the healthcare environment and has set their safety norms accordingly. Anti static and antislip norms are all tested and reached the CE EN 20347 SRA norm.



Watts Footwear has been designed by Van Berlo. It was born out of 3 keywords; simplicity, functionality and ageless. By using new functionalities the designteam was able to reset boundaries.  Watts Footwear is proud on winning an award during the Dutch Design Week in 2017. Watts was honoured by GIO and may be called a "Good Industrial Design".
